Mommy ... what are you cooking today?
Woo ... Mommy gets really dizzy every time she hears that question. For Mommy will be scrambling for ideas on what to cook for the family! Such daily chore demands a lot of discipline, a trait Mommy is definitely lacking in. Hence, to toggle between job, and planning a healthy dinner menu for the family becomes a real challenge for Mommy. Anyhow, Mommy tries her best to make dinner menus as interesting as possible. And she never repeat the same menu twice in a week, because Beatrice and Daddy do not fancy eating the same food twice in a week (*;*)
Mommy uses some standard vegetables and herbs in her daily cooking. And they are tomatoes, garlic, onions and parsley (or cilantro). You can make yummy chicken stock with chicken breast meat, tomatoes, celery, garlic and parsley for a hearty macaroni meal. Or you can also steam fish with finely chopped parsley, tomatoes and 2 teaspoons of lime juice, instead of ginger, to go with your steam rice and some seasonal vegetables. These herbs and vegetables are versatile in cooking, and they paired well with most meat dishes. That's why they are mommy's favourite!

Basically, mommy has only an hour everyday to prepare dinner for the family. She has to work fast, work with lots of short cuts, and at the same time, ensure goodness and creativity too! And on a creative day, mommy will whip up a juicy burger for the family. And here is a recipe to share with all other mommies out there.
Cheezy Pork Burger with Parsley and Basil

300g pork, 2 yellow onions chopped , 5 cloves garlic chopped , 2 tablespoons Dijion mustard, 1 dessertspoon chunky peanut butter, 1 teaspoon fish sauce, 1 tablespoon maple syrup, 1 dessertspoon soya sauce, 1 egg, breadcrumbs, 3 sprigs of parsley finely chopped, half cup of sweet basil roughly chopped, a handful of shredded morzarelle cheese and cheddar cheese.

1. Mix all ingredients together and let it sit in the refrigerator, covered for half an hour before use.
2. Heat a non-stick pan with some oil
3. Roll the marinated pork in your hand like a ball and flatten it, like the size of your palm
4. Pan fry it on both side for about 5 mins
5. Serves it on a wheat meal mini bun with lots of lettuce and tomatoes

wow!!! looks so yummy!! how i wish i can be as good a cook as you.
Larry: Lots of sacrifice on both Bee3 and me.....kekeke. But I must say that Laura's cooking has improved over the years. The weekly visits to the library recently also helped shorten the process cos there's lots of valuable healthy receipes which Laura can pick up. It also helped shorten both Bee3 & my agonies...kekeke.
Mommy...keep up the good work...i mean cooking. Jia You! Both Bee3 and I "zi chi ni".
Thanks, Rachel! Our weekly visit to the library really helps. You may come over to our place for makan, and I will try to whip up something creativity :P
